Latino Board Fellowship to place national cohort of Latino professionals onto boards of schools and education nonprofits across the nation
Boston, Massachusetts – Latinos For Education recently announced the newly selected 2023 Latino Board Fellows. The Fellowship will support and place 19 Latino leaders who work within and outside the education sector in Massachusetts and Texas onto governing boards of schools and education nonprofit organizations.
The 2023 Latino Board Fellows will participate in comprehensive training and a rigorous cultivation process to match each Fellow with the most appropriate local education organizations and their governing Board of Directors. Training includes a series of virtual seminars that will feature thought-provoking readings and discussions about the state of Latino education, nonprofit governance, and ways to improve diversity and inclusion in the education sector to better serve Latino communities. As board members, Fellows will play an important role in addressing educational inequity and influencing better educational outcomes for all children, infusing a critical Latino perspective on Board decisions
This program has matched nearly 100 Latino professionals from a cross-section of industries with leadership positions and board service opportunities. This year’s cohort has an average of 17 years of experience in industries including education, healthcare, philanthropy, and fintech/tech.
